but then it struck me that 3.14 could stand for a pie (and hellenic stands for greek)
OH that was a 3 not an S, no wonder I dind't find anything.
It seems that I can't join the quiz, I just see the countdown for the next quiz in 2 days and the leaderboards.
Is it normal ?
Yeah, the quiz ended already. You were too late.

If you just loaded the quiz page, yes it's normal. The quiz starts right on time every Saturday and then resets to default 48 hours, so there won't be a quiz on Monday.

You guys are using Firefox? I read that Chrome was better supported for other mini games

edit: Don't mind, it must be one of my Firefox extensions that got the thing messed up. Will try on another one :)

Unfortunately it is over now. You have to be online when the timer reaches 0 (next will be on next Saturday).
... At first I was looking for biblical verses, but then it struck me that 3.14 could stand for a pie (and hellenic stands for greek)...
Was that a 3? I was sure it was an "S" (same than tugamix666), i even searched for a "5".... and also i thought it was some biblical verses... xD

No idea 3.14 means pie (i guess it is because of "π").

Well, won nothing but learned something :D .

I did join before, just in case because it was my first, but at 7:00PM the countdown just rolled 10 minutes before... Weird.
Today the quiz started at 17:10 GMT, I usually load the page before 17:00 GMT in case the quiz starts right on the hour (it usually gets delayed a bit to give late-comers a chance) and maybe refresh when there are a couple minutes left.

I've used both Firefox and Chrome without problems, so it shouldn't be an issue.

The curse of S3 strikes again! It's literally the same symbol in the font used in the game. I wish they'd finally change it, people have been complaining about that for a long time.

Ugh, my brain malfunctioned on the Oktoberfest question. 😢

I'm curious as to why I'm only listed as having 2690 pts total (out of a maximum of 2750), even though I've only missed this one question since the last reset. There are others who have 2700-2740, implying that a single wrong answer shouldn't ding you 60 points. :unsure:

Only the question #1 costs 10 points and they go up 10 for every question: 10, 20, 30... and up to 100 for the #10.
And since the Octoberfest was the sixth, yeah it cost you 60 points.

I don't get this or the hint 9 xD .

Can anyone explain them to me? xD
As I read, the 9th hint has been explained, as for the picture I posted, you have 4 mathematical expressions:
  • solve the square root of -1;
  • solve 2 to the power of 3;
  • look up what the symbol means;
  • And Pi which has been explained
Or if you're lazy to solve it yourself:
i eight sum pi - if you pronounce it in English sounds very much like: "I ate some pie" and it's on a pie XD

xD Thank you for the detailed explanation (pretty sure i would have not got it without it :D ).

Yeah, I had my internal deliberations between 3,8 and 9 (somehow I figured it was a number, maybe because S.14 didn't bring any immediate associations)

As for the "Pie" - indeed, English has an inexplicable hang-up with referring to 3.14 by its true name (might have something to do with giggling school students that would disrupt the learning process by turning every first math lession with the word "pii" in it into a laugh riot... and terms like "circumference" wouldn't help the matter either)

The hint for #5 this week seems like it must be incomplete. Did IndieGala accidentally omit the year or something when copy/pasting from last time's hints?
Or perhaps it's asking for the team that won the greatest number of times? :confused:
