Look at the problem this way: we have two other hints pointing towards the same fact about different Olympic games. Hint 9 follows the same pattern, just a little more obfuscated in the first half.
PS at least that's how I see it, would be a bit embarrassing if it turns out I'm wrong.

As FreaKill said, use the first part of the hint to get something that makes the whole hint similar to other hints .

I think I kind of get the gist of things and hope my search will actually lead me to the left side of the board today

Got lucky with question 9, did not figure out it was related to the 2004 Olympics until the question popped up.

LOL, got completely misled by the fact that The Incredibles 2 was prominently advertised at 2018 Olympics, didn't even think to check the year of the original film (quite obvious thing in retrospect), still got it thanks to vague memories
And yeah, they mistyped 1948 instead of 1944 in Q4. Got me a bit nervous.

Aww.. My fat fingers got me clicking on the wrong option for question 9 when what I intended to answer was USA but what mistake has been made has been made. Congratz to all winners though

Meanwhile, I expected #9 would be related to Frozone (who attempted to participate in the Winter Olympics, but was denied because he'd unfairly dominate) possibly being inspired by Shani Davis (who won 4 Olympic medals).
(Lucky for me, I also noted the possibility it'd be about 2004 or 2018.)

And seeing "1948" sure had me raising an eyebrow.

In my case, the first results i got when searching the hint, pointed to the actual correct answer, but i admit i was not sure what to search with those hints .

Wow you still had some spare time to screenshot the questions while the quiz is ongoing? That's really something!
For me I am scrambling to find answers to even be able to do something like that
But that visual bug sure is very unfortunate.. Gave me a jump scare when I got mine before
