I'm new here and I'd appreciate it if someone could link me to a list of rules regarding what can and cannot be given away. I'm guilty of putting up a Volta beta key, but I had no idea this was not allowed. Also, I did a giveaway earlier with a totally legit dlc key that was not part of a mass giveaway and I still got marked negative by the winner.

Why is a person with 19 negatives still allowed to make GA's here, and BETA's too for that matter?
That person is very well aware it's a beta, since it's in his/her description.

Simple stuff for the coders: if in a giveaway's description, there's the word ´beta´, don't accept the GA.

*edit* Then at least the creator of the GA can't hide behind the "But I wrote it was a beta", even though it is not allowed regardless.

I mean, really... 19 negatives and still being able to both participate in and make new giveaways? What's the point of having a good score?
"Let's just make GA's of every free thing out there, no matter if we get thousands of negatives, some will go through and make us rise in levels."

There's not really any benefit for being honest, except the good feeling inside yourself for being true... While being screwed by cheaters...

As you probably already realized - there are no strict instructions to whom and what you can distribute! There are a bunch of morons who put negative reviews for working keys for any reason that came to their mind. Here is such and need to ban.

Ah yes, it's the victims of the cheater that are really to blame, not the (*checks notes*) scammer who is creating fake giveaways.
If you don't need a key from the giveaway, why are you entering it? You were given a working key and you activated it. (*checks notes*) ONLY leave negative feedback obviously. Then you are an insignificant being and your life is insignificant.

Its this one you are looking for. Crusader Kings III – Coming September 1st – Pre-order now

They are giving it for free to promote the upcoming CK3 game.
This is not about who took the key or where. There are administrators and moderators on the site who can restrict certain GiveAway. Not you or anyone else member. If you are not interested in the GiveAway - do not join it. And if you joined the GiveAway -> got a WORKING key -> activated it and put a negative review - YOU are a THIEF. Here is such and need to ban.

I agree, there is a need for a ban: you did not provide a working key for the product that was claimed and then when you were called out for cheating the system you threw a temper tantrum. You are a liar and a cheat and you deserve to be banned.

ban must give you, you stupid creature. You're a thief and you should be in jail. I already told you where you can put that stolen key... Enjoy 💩 . OFF your life.

Hi there, I think it depends on the positive to negative ratio and I always hope even if people posted "duplicate keys" that it was an accident. I can say that for the two negative reviews I've got that the users sadly did not get in touch with me, I'm 100% sure we could've found a solution (possibly can even now). But I don't know if they even would be interested to be 'bothered' by me to get my "100 percent positive rating". Then there's this 'ongoing trend' some indie developers on Steam started, in which the developer revoked originally good keys through steam which of course caused trouble with the giveaways.
We're human, mistakes happen, misunderstandings are a possibility, so I guess one should always try to get into contact with the person who created the giveaway. So uh thanks for reading my train of thought?

Best greetings,
Ossel

Hello all INDIEGALA USERS! Here are some rules about giveaways. Please, read them careffuly. Thank you! -> Indiegala help
It's unfortunate that these rules appear to be vastly different than the old rules.
There doesn't seem to be any mention of "beta keys" and "promotional distribution keys" in the new rules.

Also, as I'm sure most people are aware, after the forum changes and even before, most Indiegala staff don't actively monitor these forums. Least it appears to be that way. I know some of the bugs reported in the running thread weren't really addressed and now are buried since every since giveaway can generate a thread. You'll be better off contacting support directly.

Certain restrictions for a giveaway can be controlled by the admin/moderators but the key that is entered is entirely on you whether its a real, duplicate or fake key. I am NOT saying you provided a fake key.

As i mentionned to you on a previous post, if the negative feedback is not deserved, write an email to Indiegala support and provide evidence you gave them a valid working key for the full game/software. Let support decide this. If you are in the right, then they have the ability to correct the feedback provided. Otherwise, this is unlikely to get resolved. I hope you can get this resolved.

I am. Sure, the key was "real" in that it could be activated, but it wasn't for the product it was advertised for: beta keys are not full game keys.

Those aren't rules, they're instructions.
@mseals created a short-list of rules which includes "no beta keys". I don't know the official position that mseals holds within Indiegala but they have posted recently about removing giveaways, so I'm reasonably guessing that they have at least partial mod powers and authority to decide what is and what is not a valid key/

i still think people should offer whatever they want and enter whatever they want, their problem really. This would all be solved if we could have a button "hide this game", either because we already have it or are not interested.
