Please report to IG support and if you can get a send a copy of your conversation of this, people like this can be removed from IG permanently so that other people dont get scammed in this way.

Actually, Opa (who posted above me) contacted IG support before I could and was told that this guy would be permanently banned. Perhaps someone from IG could confirm this for us?

There has got to be a way to prevent people from just typing anything they want into the "key" field when creating a trade.

Lastly, hi Stevey from AWG :).

This is the guy that stole from several IndieGala users under different usernames, posting his info again:

I traded him a copy of Ken Follett's Pillars of the Earth for a copy of Raft; of course, I never saw my game. Take a look at his play time- happy to see that he is enjoying the game he stole from me, at least ;). Almost five hours of playtime! You go, buddy!

Indiegala should only allow people to participate in trades or giveaways if they've bought something from Indiegala in the last 6 months. That would halt most fake/alt accounts at a stroke and boost IG's sales a bit ... win / win.

Indiegala is a joke. Seriously.

I got scammed the other day and the scammer didn't even give bother to write a complete key as it was one letter/number missing. This is how well this site works.

This is the second time I got scammed here, but while the first one was no ones fault (because I was new here), I fully blame indiegala for the second one, because it was something they could have EASILY prevented! Even the most crappy sites has checks for that kind of thing (it checks for key lenght, among other things), but appereantly here you can enter a trade with half a key. Maybe it doesn't even need to be in a key format, maybe you can write "I am scamming you" in the key slot and you can still enter a trade. I tried to contact support about it and I also mentioned the used keys I got from the Golden Giveaway nonsense and as expected they didn't even bother to reply in two days. They have proven that they simply don't give a damn.

As for a system, I think a user must giveaway at least 3 or 4 keys before they could be allowed to trade. That would work as no thief would giveaway keys. But thats just my opinion.

The Indiegala's trading system fails absurdly in safety. This topic has more than a year with good suggestions. Three months ago a moderator said Indiegala was following the topic, but nothing has changed.

And that would be very easy to solve ... it's just limiting functionality to the account of new users. My suggestion of the first post of the topic, would solve this. Steam itself has limited functionality for new accounts, which is only released after spending $ 5.

The biggest victims of the scammers are exactly honest new users. That due to the frustration of being cheated, they give up using the trading system.

I realized that many old users with a good reputation have stopped using the trading system. I remember that about 2 years ago, the trade sector had more than 100 pages of game offers ... and nowadays, it is only 40 pages.

The Indiegala must take urgent action against the Scammers. Or, you will lose more old users and not gain new users.

Why I suggested that it should be based on giveaways and not Steam is because I was cheated twice, both had credible Steam accounts. Only time I made a trade without issues was with a user without a proper Steam profile page. Some people use spare accounts for this kind of thing, which is fine, but all thiefs and cheaters must be eliminated, it should be too much work for them to create an account just to steal some keys.

Also, this isn't simply an issue with the trade system, Giveaway system is pretty bad as well. There are so many bots that chances of winning for a normal user is slim. What chance does anyone who doesn't use bots have to win, really?

But you also prove my point, Indiegala simply doesn't give a damn. They basically support these low lives.

Be carefull with JenryJoy12. He's a scammer with just two negative votes (from me) cause he cheated me twice in a day.
He's offering 3 trades, and surely none of them is true. Or maybe yes, he's offering a key of Tales of Berseria, one of the games I lost.

Oh no, I just traded with one of these account and it told me to contact that profile you mentioned above

Let's see if he going to deliver the game promised or not.

Update: This is the chat log with him, after I asked for install date in license page he remove me as friend and disable comment in his page.

Of course we know, if he showed me the install date it will be yesterday and all he said is lie.
Please help report this person.

^^^^ Yep, he is a jerk. I went back and forth with him for a while in chat before I finally asked him to stop playing games and admit that he stole my key. His final chat message to me? "I did :)."

Classy guy.
