And the last giveaway I'll be doing for now is bit different. It's opened only to members actively engaging with the community by gifting games and making giweaways. If you are unknown to me you'll have to provide proof that you gifted at least two games in last 2 months here on the forums (gifting games directly to people based on their wishlists does count but you have to prove it).

The game in question is Just Cause 4 Complete Edition. And my idea behind this is to say thank you to the people that make this community awesome.

View attachment 5087

To enter you'll need to react to this posts with 😲 this will provide some transparency to who is participating and it might help me to filter some of the entries with help of others that spend more time here on the forums than I do.

Giveaway will be opened for a week. So the end date is 03.10. some time after noon (when I get around to it) CET time.
Any questions please feel free to PM me.

Good luck everyone.
Still plenty of time to join before the giveaway closes on monday. I've sent out PMs to everyone who applied so far but needs to confirm that they are eligible. So if you haven't received a PM from me your are already in the raffle.

I have NEVER had luck with dskchk ..if I need to use it then the drive is prolly dead/dying which sux.
I clone drives using Macrium Reflect and even on my 3rd gen i7 it happens pretty quickly. Never fast enough while you're waiting tho, right? lol
Disk check sucks but Macrium Reflect is supposed to be the best, I wasn't going to buy something I was trying to improve upon.

As for Chkdsk, i was just using that to double check since I haven't implemented a verification process after the entire write and its alot of important data...not to mention I had just tweaked it to copy directly from one partition to another without using any actual storage space after not touching it for a long time. I'm not perfect and mistakes can happen, especially when your rusty and haven't touched the code in a while.

I'm curious, when you say quickly, what size drive are we talking and how long does it take?

There is a grand canyon of a difference between a 500 GB SSD (or any SSD for that matter) and an 8TB Mechanical NAS Drive partition to a 12TB Server Drive partition

I can clone a TB in an hour tops, usually not even. I run it on 500GB partitions for test runs lol.

There is also a big difference is your cloning a Physical Drive (directly using the device is much faster) or just a single partition...plus I was doing this is windows, not recovery mode like you would need to do if you were cloning your physical OS disk (usually the case)

Interesting fact on that one, during the clone process I actually checked the total IO read/writes for all programs and iCUE had written to the disk more times than my program, which was writing in TB in 16MB buffers. When i killed it ad its services everything wet alot faster.

Note to self, stop iCUE from writing to my SSDs all day and night :ROFLMAO:

I'm not trying to compete with a major company like Macrium when I ask...I'm really curious how long it takes for how large of a drive (or partition if it does that)...if I can't make mine fast enough eventually--I might need to invest in it.

I do this shit alot lol....and no, watching the clock is the most painful wait ever, unfortunately since it my own program, I need to do that just to see if it has been or can be improved lol. Sucks.
I couldnt highlight it to reply but my partner plays a game like Lines on android (that you linked to steam for).. I dont get why. I watch the game play and think its mind-numbing lol .. however I certainly know someone who'll like this game 🤣 so thanks!
Reminded me of time wasting phone apps, and I have a friend who loves them too...so I figured it was worth sharing...not exactly my thing either

Happy anniversary and happy birthday to your better half klingki. Thanks for another great giveaway!

I personally like SCoPoS better. It has a slightly ominous ring to it, like any secret society name should.

When I look up the name, I find this https://www.wordsense.eu/scopos/

Apparently, scopos is an inflection of the Latin word scopus which means "target" 🎯

So, I can only conclude that SCoPos is a secret society of hitmen assassins who want to exterminate all of us who were not born in September.
All this talk of birthday celebrations and giveaways is a clever ruse to distract us.
Oh no am I safe if my anniversary is in September but not my birthday?😧

EDIT:

Third party Cookies Disabled

No longer an issue.

Can anyone verify if they can login to Origin* on the site? I've tried two nights in a row to steal the keys to the city for NFS heat and haven't been able too (I own it for steam and origin), so its practically pointless...buts it pissin me off lol.

Using my own custom program, approx. 12 hrs :ROFLMAO:

I've been running a check disk on it (the partition only) to make sure my program didn't fluke out since I just modified it and thats still running now, and its been almost 7 hrs just for that.

My EaseUS Partition Tools said 18 before I cancelled it

All in all i think my program did a damn good job for time...and its not even optimized properly or using multiple threads or processes yet heh.

It was still a fucking nightmare...I dread even running a disk check on the entire 12TB drive I just cloned it onto a partition of :ROFLMAO:

Man did it suck...shoulda optimized the program first...next on my don't fucking slack list thats for sure lmao.
Ouch! I hate waiting for cloning/file transfers. My old laptop was pretty bad in that regard, especially when I updated to Win 10. Also when I transfered stuff to my new laptop or when I moved stuff between my new laptops two nvmes, that 4TB HD, a 500GB hd, and a 1TB external SSD.

The last time I had to clone a disk was when I swapped someones laptop HD with an SSD cause with win10 it had 100% disk usage trying to check for updates or other normal background stuff. Fortunately it was less than a 100GB of stuff on a 500GB HD.

Unless you used a program designed for it, a 1:1 clone doesn't properly work between an SSD and an HDD (in either direction), SSDs have a different format due to the automatic trim function, no fragmenting, etc. (garbage collection made sense to me, but the term is technically wrong)

It seems like it works, but its error prone, usually affects drivers and hardware (monitors/GPUs etc), I learned that in the process of making this one...the hard way of course

EDIT:

The other neat thing I learned is drives and entire physical disks can be saved as an ISO like a CD/DVD and opened with programs like 7-Zip.

As well as the fact that if a program doesn't prevent it, you can backup file systems it doesn't recognize. My program works for Linux, Apple, Playstation drives, etc...although you may need to run it from a Windows boot media at the least.

I never tried it on linux and it uses some really low level code and possibly a few Windows specific API functions.

I have backed up and restored PS3 drives successfully, but Windows ofc doesn't 'want' to recognize it lol.

I wanted to add a feature to change the boot area to different formats while keeping the data intact, but I never got that far. You know, life being shit an all most of the time to distract you from what you want to do.

Seems we both suck...you had your PW wrong and I had no idea blocking 3rd party cookies would stop my login...never did before.

Even worse, it said i claimed it on steam already and wouldn't let me 🤬

Disk check sucks but Macrium Reflect is supposed to be the best,
Macrium Reflect is free.
You can clone the entire drive or just copy off partitions & resize, plus it verifies.
Not sure what features the paid version adds, maybe incremental/scheduled backups? I dont script so Im happy to use MR.

I also didnt wanna start a who's-pc's-is-better debate. It was more a comment that it runs well on older pc's too. (EDIT: sorry this part shouldnt have been here lol .. removed to make sense)

For the record my most recent clone was a (full) 1T SSD to a 2T external HDD and that took 38 mins. Yeah I was impressed. Esp when compared to the longest clone. Last year a laptop xp boot drive to an ssd and it took like.. 10 HOURS lol, so I just kind of expect cloning to take a while and either run them overnight or when I'll be afk anyway however Im usually pleasantly surprised they finish quickly.

It is a pity Amz Prm is not giving anymore free steam keys. There are too many different platforms now to redeem their games.
Oh.. like never again? If so then I think I missed that piece of news. Meh.
Even worse, it said i claimed it on steam already and wouldn't let me 🤬
Wait.. you werent able to claim the Origin NSFH dlc because you've claimed it on Steam?

thanks watched full video but they are passing fast at one thing thousands of bethesda accounts has been hacked and never been recovered that was one of the biggest atomic bomb at fallout76 history. Overall I played over 1000 hours of fallout 4 and 3 and still playing. I have fallout 76 long ago played just a little, I dont care what media says or does but Fallout76 does not have a soul from the beginning. When you start even without knowing the drama behind it, this is just not even a 1 percent of the legendary fallout 4.

ps. Microtransactions kills the creativity, fun factor, community, soul, cycle everything in any game.

Fcuk the Micro (MBoss) :D
