You have entirely too much faith on AI...being real though, as a writer himself...you can see how it hits ivo a little deeper than most people.
AI doesn't make anything good, but mass produced slop to get clicks, that it does very well. It doesn't need a high success rate. It just needs enough people to click to get some ad money. Also, most humans aren't writing anything good, especially recently.
I watched a human made one, where the title was something like human saves animal, and animal is grateful. The thumbnail was of the animal tangled in rope. I knew that animal would never be grateful, so I watched it. The human cuts the animal free. It tries to bite the human, then runs away without looking back, which is exactly what I expected, and I laughed. Obviously the title was clickbait, and it worked on me.
AI is capable of making many more of these types of videos than a human could. Some will be successful.
Say what you will but if AI is handling most of it the need for someone to learn the massive amounts of low level code someone like me has...just isn't a realistic situatuon
Yes, the learn to code thing did not pan out. Currently, AI can do random noob code quite well. You still need someone at the helm controlling what happens, but a lot of the simple stuff AI can handle, and do well. Will AI code almost entirely on its own at some point? Maybe, but there are limits. Maybe we need a language that plays to AI strengths? A human would need to be in control of that, but it's not impossible.
I sacrificed being rich to loving what I do, but theres a difference between being rich and being stable...as i'm obviously proof of now as well. I may not regret my choices...but it doesnt make it any easier to accept my situatuon when it could be entirely different had I.
We all make choices, and live with them. You can't go back. You can change what you do going forward, but choices you made previously will impact your future options.
AI does some things very well. It has improved a lot. It could improve more at some point, but it has plateaued in many areas.
In some ways AI is impressive, but it's not AGI. It does a few things very well, and is a tool that when used the right way produces results. We're still in the early stages, but compared to previous decades, we have made some big improvements recently. I look forward to seeing what it ends up doing.
As far as humans go, humans will do human things, just like they always have. Horse drawn carriages barely exist. Hardly anyone farms. Things changed. People adapted. The same will happen in future.
