The highlighted trees don't become semi-transparent, only the not-targeted nearby trees do, that can make it a bit harder to chop a tree from above, since I can't see the animation and unless I position myself a bit to the side, I have rely entirely on sound to know when to hit again.
Oh so the reason I can see my character is actually the way I approach the trees. That makes sense. What you described is exactly what I meant, I just didn't realize that I scarcely approach trees from the north so I forgot that if I'm behind the hightlighted tree I'm not gonna see myself :D
This discussion has become very enlightening, I like seeing that other people think about these challenges differently than I do. But yeah, I always approach trees a little bit from the side like you said, because I'm uncomfortable when I don't see that little person on my screen and the other trees become transparent just like you said

Also one more thing - I used to play this minigame on my old laptop and the FPS was so low I never won the trees challenge. But then I got a new laptop with a better CPU and suddenly I can win it, so yeah rythm is very important and if your PC can't handle the game your rythm is never gonna be good enough, in my opinion

They all come in exactly the same order, so at a point you'll have challenges that you can do with bigger malus, so you'll want to make them at the end. Here is my rotation : Chopping => Sickling => Mining => Watering => Killing => Picking => Hoeing.
I'm ashamed to say this took me 4 months to figure out that they always appera in the same order. And I use the exact same rotation as you for maximum effectivness
I mean the rythm of chopping the tree or hiting the rock with mining etc. You're suppose to do it at a specific rate for fastest result, but what is that rate? Like when ax gets to x point I trigger it again and so on.
Probably the best thing to do would be to play the main game, as FreaKill said. It all comes down to practice in the end, you need to get a "feel" for when to click the mouse

For chopping and mining i always mash the right button up the fastest i can when i'm on a tree/rock. Even for sickling, i go the fastest i can and move everywhere around me to optimize.

I think I finally figured out how to do the bean watering. Got 14 plants with 16 malus. Think I'll be able to ado it when my malus resets. That's teh only challenge I haven't been able to win on.
14 plants with 16 malus is pretty good, especially since at 16 malus you CAN'T miss, last time I tried it at 16 malus I also got 14/16 with the last two grown to the last stage and watered but I missed twice previously. Also if you do the default challenge rotation you should get to it at 12 malus max first which is better for it, see here:

It's a bit tough to say, but from trying to squeeze the best time possible out of the tree chopping challenge, I'd say my best rhythm there is around 2.5-3 hits per second. Try playing the main game and get used to how long the various tool animations last. For some people it's easier to watch for the exact frame when to click in order to get the next hit immediately, without the character idling, for others it's better to go by the sound of the swing.

The highlighted trees don't become semi-transparent, only the not-targeted nearby trees do, that can make it a bit harder to chop a tree from above, since I can't see the animation and unless I position myself a bit to the side, I have rely entirely on sound to know when to hit again.
Not that I know how long a second is, much-less able to judge how quick 2.5-3 seconds is.
So when going by frame or sound, what frame or sound do I want to look for?

Is there a video of someone doing the challenges with a good rhythm?

Is there a way to test if my game is lagging compared to others?

Is there a Steam version of the game I can do this challenge on? I know a different game where the steam version of the game runs much faster than the browser version.

Have you tried the main game? No steam version, just the main game http://feudalife.indiegala.com/ , most of the things are present there - hoeing, bean watering, the archers too I think? But like I think you're devoting all-together too much time to the "theory", seriously just try out the main game, then try the challenges every day and fail spectacularly at them for a few days and they you'll slowly get better. Look the prizes aren't that good that this should somehow consume your life or something, just practice the challenges every day and you'll get better, try different approaches - click the mouse very fast -> did you get good results? -> if no, click the mouse for example when the axe has just hit the tree (right as you hear the sound of a "hit" ). I'm not sure anybody here will be able to explain what the "right" time is to click the mouse

This. The main game is very useful for practice, especially if you want to find a better rythm to the challenges, just remember that in the main game mining rocks takes one extra click (at least for me).

Thanks. I just figured it out. Previously I was watering one at a time wondering how in the world you could get them to grow fast enough when it took 7 clicks to grow one plant. Then I tried the constant rotation from plant to plant, and saw that it doesn't take that many clicks if you water them that way. Hoping to finally score a win on that. I've won well over 500 keys and have yet to win one on the watering challenge!

I have 220 coins but I get an error that I don't have enough coins to play.
Same here. It's curious that it says "not enough Galacredits" (store credit that can be used to buy games and bundles) instead of Galasilver (for giveaways and feudalife challenges). I wonder if it always said Galacredits and I just don't remember or they're going to make the challenges paid again.

EDIT Seems to work now.

PRO TIP: before you enter the challenge, when the "instructions" are displayed - observe the map you're given
I'm not sure what you mean exactly. When I click start challenge I get a screen where a box describes the challenge. But this box hides most of the map.

yeah, observe everything else you can see, it will help you form a strategy. Also as soon as the box disappears and you see the countdown, observe the rest of the map, so that you know what you're gonna do - is it better to quickly go to the edge of the map or do you begin in the middle? Especially for trees and mining challenge you should look where you're gonna go. Also for mining try to count how many brown rocks you can see so that you for example know "if I start on the right side of the map, there are 12 rocks but on the left there are only 8 closely together, it's therefore more convenient to quickly go to the right side of the map and start there" or something like that, it's what I do

That's exactly the screen cheerie132 is talking about. And yeah, the instructions cover a lot, but it's a bit less than half of the playing field, not most of it. You can tell quite a bit by what is seen - for example in the chopping challenge only the tall trees poke over the top of the panel, so you can immediately tell what the top row of trees is like and plan accordingly.

same here. Deleting cookies and re-log didn't work.
I have 230 galasilver but it says I don't have not enough coins to play
What the hell just happen ? I want to play gameplay giveaway and i need GALA CREDITS no COINS .... ?
We had that glitch yesterday - nothing you can do about it, just wait until they fix it. And no, you still pay Galasilver for participating, not Galacredits.
