When I was a kid my family would go camping occasionally and several times we had hedgehogs stomping around the campsite at night. I gotta tell you, for such a small animal they are surprisingly loud.
Not sure about the stomping part, but the puffing/huffing(can't describe it better) sounds they make are suprisingly loud, especially if it's quiet.

Gah! The key to Q7 was to KISS (keep it simple, stupid). Nocturnal? Diurnal? Crepuscular? Fossorial? Forget all of that high-brow bunk! Should've singled out the unsightly eyeless (sure looks like it) freak of nature that squirms somewhere out of sight, it its dark underground holes. The rest are (mostly) fluffy and cute. Well, the hedgehog isn't all cushiony, but it sure is cute.

Should I go ahead and keep experimenting with this style of hints for a while?
Sure, why not, it was fun. Depending on how deep you go into the information rabbit hole, consider adding hints to the hints.
And yeah mix it up, don't stick to this style exclusively. Since this requires a bit more work maybe make it a Saturday quiz thing.

Yeah, it was fun figuring those hints out. Though as already mentioned, for some sets additional qualifying hints may be in order.
Like the animals in #7 were all a bit too unique from each other:
-hedgehog is the only one with spines
-mole is the only subterranean one
-raccoon is the only one to wash its food
-badger doesn't give a fuck 😎
I just didn't know what to look for with that amount of unique features. Although the fact that moles live underground should've been enough of a clue that a creature living without sun is the most likely to have a different circadian rhythm.

Might be a bit of a spoiler, but I have to ask. Are all the hints the same or is there some kind of glitch?

How many others went all the way to hint #10, just in case? Trusting people, aren't we :)
There have been times in the past where there's been a cookie way in the back of the cabinet. Whether the "hints" in those instances have been for an actual quiz, placeholders pending the release of actual hints, or just random stuff that mainly informed about the quiz being postponed, it's always nice to find something way in the back. ^^

edit: Is it just me, or did the timer just receive and additional +10 minutes to it? 🤨

Looks like the timer increased. I always find it odd, when refreshing the quiz page you get one time, but after a few secs it changes to a different one.

It's almost as if the quiz gets delayed every time someone talks about it. I've seen something like this before somewhere... Half-Life 3 confirmed.
