Yep a lot of fun terms there.
A fun experience from my time as an admin. Get a call that a PC doesn't turn on. So start asking the common questions, is it plugged in, ect. Still isn't working, so I head over to see what's wrong. So yeah, the PC is plugged into the extender cord, but the extender cord isn't plugged in. And this happened more then once.
Have encountered similar issues myself; got a call that the internet wasn't working. Went over there (2 towns away) and plugged in their router.
(A sowing group had unplugged it the evening before to make room for their sowing machines...)

Ha! Didn't see that one before.

Did anyone else spend like an hour looking for a manufacturer or researcher named Myron, trying to find a particular Myron related format, going through patents mentioning Myron, before finally giving up and going "All right, it's a long shot but let's look at this ancient sculptor. Famous statue - Discobolus. OH 🤦‍♂️"
Honestly Myron worked as more of a distraction for me, since Optical was already in the hint, and it kind of very heavily implies disc.
I spent maybe 10 minutes text-searching disc-related pages for the name "Myron", seeing if there was any mention of that particular person being related to the invention of the otherwise obvious element in question (some form of disk, be it HDD, CD, DVD, what have you...), and eventually facepalmed (figuratively) when I realized it was about the discus thrower.
Pretty much confirmed for me that I was on the right track when looking at discs though. ^^

edit (for the sake of a petty joke):
since Optical was already in the hint, and it kind of very heavily implies disc.
A "heavy" disc indeed :p
(Let the awkward silence and chirps of crickets ensue...)

Thursdays haven't had a quiz in a while... is this normal?
I think it's just a second (or third?) week without Thursday's quiz.
But come on - Quizmaster needs a break too (especially with virus going around), and a site is under rework - I'm pleasantly surprised it's not cancelled completely.
Going by the announcement-thread, it's the third week with no Thursday-quiz. (not 3 consecutive weeks though).
Personally, I appreciate the pseudo-break. Allows more time to do other things. ^^

False negative on Q2 (credit was received)

And was it just me, or did the timer for Q5 go "7...6...5...4...0"?
