I tried to block "Stormizinhu" one of the ones posting hundreds of the DLC, but no, Indiegala has made it impossible, since they LIKE cheaters...Iindiegala,, LOVE cheaters, Indiegala wants everyone to be fake, why would they otherwise stop users from seeing others Steam accounts? Yes, Indiegala WANTS cheaters to use their site.

it's difficult to tell (and judge), for sure Indiegala is a little company (by the number of people involved in this business, a family business i presume) i'm sure if they had the money to pay a community manager/forum mod they'll do it...cause cheaters/hackers are the worst for a game business company...and you're not off topic

according to steam this dlc should be FREE (and the most important fact is that summer season is over )
i also suspect this FREE game will not be playable soon (as the dlc's are advertised since many weeks by now)

Considering there are users with 24 negative reviews still trying to give away beta games, I think it's safe to say there's no automod, and mseals seems to have disappeared so there's no one who cares enough to manually mod. And that's not the worst I've seen; I once clicked a GA that had dozens of negative reviews with less than ten positive.
So yeah, I've given up. Got a bunch of extra keys from the last few humble bundles that I think I'm going to use elsewhere.

On a somewhat related note, has anyone figured out how to actually add people to the blocklist?
I can't seem to figure it out at all. Their "profile link" doesn't appear to be the correct way to do it. I have no idea how to identify the format they ask for.

i banned 2 people, you need their TRADE profile link, not forum profile. It's easy to do if that user has won something from you (click on their username next to giveaway winner and you'll get their trade profile link), otherwise just type into google something like "indiegala user XXXXX" and hope google gives you link to that user's trade profile so that you can ban

I agree that this has gone totally out of hand. You can see all these fake giveaways easily at first sight, and nothing is done. I don't know why no action is taken, but this is negative publicity and it does not make sense to let it roam free...
Anyway, seeing page after page with open betas, free games offered as giveaways and unrealistic amount of entries in any extra odds game that is offered (I saw once 17k entries) is dishearthening.
Right now, entering giveaways is a monotony task: nex page -> next -> hey a real game -> next -> next -> one more; hope it is not a scam -> next -> next -> next -> hmm I don't know this one, nice pic, let's google... yeah, a beta -> next... and I have realized that cause I was not even caring to check the winning entries anymore; today I checked several days worth of them (around 600 games) with no win whatsoever (on the other hand, I am quickly aware that there is some new beta giveaway somewhere and sometimes I got there in time to get one key. Yay!).
At this point, I don't even know if there is just more bots being created to struggle with other bots for the chance to get giveaways or if true/new users have started to join this scamfest as there are no consequences.
Sorry for the rant; but I entered this thread once I got fed up with scams and finding out that there is no hope is the last straw. I needed to vent some.

If that's the case, that's a HUGE issue. It shouldn't be this difficult to block a known cheater regardless if they've won something from you or not.

what if we created a topic like another place similar to this has:

Where are those giveaways coming from?

so we can discuss from where are those free games coming from. It would actually serve a dual purpose, avoid entering giveaways for free games and know where they como from so we can get them ourselves if anyone wants them.

What do you guys think?

All those "Life is strange 2" giveaways? most (if not ALL) are only episode 1, which is curretly FREE on Steam (and other platforms as well I think), you just click on Install button in Steam and it's yours (I heard it also drops trading cards, but can't confirm personally)

well, my principal source about free games is r/FreeGameFindings so i don't see the point to duplicate the same news here...basically it's not a bad idea, but it already exist
a good exemple is that i already know about the new freebie from Indiegala before the official newsletter reach my mailbox
