Just discovered Steam key giveaways every day! - GiveAway.su which has a lot of games for free that have been showing up lately, almost all of which are cheapy, 1IC (99xp) games.
I kind of feel that these are acceptable though? It takes effort to claim them, and there's measures in place to make it difficult to farm. And anyone who wins is saved from needing to go through the hassle so it's all good, I guess?

I'll fully admit I've been giving those games away, because it's a Russian owned site and it uses a Chrome widget to verify entries.
It's definitely not _easily_ farmable, and it was banned from both Reddit groups because of the above.

I'm sure some people use caution with it, and I'm happy to keep giving them away, but most people don't appear to use the site due the issues above. Normally I only see about 5-10 giveaways from the site max on any given day, and they do repeat quite a few of them on rotation after a while (and they only let you get 1 per "sponsor")

Obviously if deemed "unacceptable" will stop, but it is what it is.
Seems general management of the whole giveaway system is entirely out of wack so not even sure if it's enforceable now.

So...I'm just throwing an idea out there.
Is there any interest in compiling a list of "known bots / exploitive users" for a community banlist?
I know users are limited in slots based on level, but I feel like this might be worthwhile.

Obviously it can't be hosted on this site (since it would probably get removed or be seen by those same users) but I feel that perhaps it could be done with some trusted users? Google docs or something?

Since the users can't be easily identified anymore (unless they've won something from you already) I feel like this is even more crucial.

I like the idea, not sure how to do that thought so that the people whom it concerns don't interfere with it

On a related note, THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS:nice things.png
I counted 36 of them, all created by ONE USER. that's 36*1200 XP so total 43200 XP points for, essentially, nothing. If every single person with IG account and internet connection and time on their hands and 36 email adresses did this, the site would be completely unusable. Wish we could report stuff like this so that these people don't get the XP the rest of us actually have to work for

BTW, all those Skeleton Crew giveaways are also beta: closed beta that will run only until November 2nd.
So winners will lose access to the game in a few days and then will complain.
Keys are given out on Alienware Arena:

Tombstar giveaway that i won 5 days ago. I already mark it positive. Haven't played the game yet and the key already got revoked. Can i do anything about this?
That's the problem with beta keys - almost all of them are giving access to a game only for a limited time or with limited features. There might be some exceptions (so that's why I added "almost"), but as a general rule we can assume that any beta key will not give you permanent access to a full game with all the features the way normal key does.
That's why on Steam Gift giving out beta not allowed.
Here this rule was in place too - long time ago. Problem is - now official rules are really vague, and even bigger problem - promised feedback system not actually working, nobody enforcing the rules...
Yes, you can write to support and hope they respond - but it's still not a guarantee that this person will not keep going on creating more fake giveaways.
