I wouldn't risk getting banned over a few hundred XP. It also encourages others to think it's ok to give away free games, as it looks like you're doing, even if you're not.

based on what I've seen on here, once a game is on the prohibited list, it's there for good. I was holding it because I've been a bit ticked off by the seeming randomness of the awarded XP, but the giveaway threw a wrench into things.

giveaways on other sites are...problematic.
reddit is a cesspool and fairly overrun by bots, so a giveaway with nothing to show for it at all isn't appealing to me.
I know steamgifts exists, but I haven't honestly looked into its system at all.

so it was either try to get rid of it now or have it sit in my list on another site literally forever. I'd rather SOMEONE got some playtime out of it.

anyway, as far as I know, you only get banned for giving a BAD (non-working, used, fake, etc) key, not for giving a prohibited key...which it wasn't at the time of creation, so it's a moot point.

In theory, it's not a problem, you can't generate a valid code for a F2P game and people could leave negative feedback. The description for these giveaways claim the codes in the giveaway are for dlc that's not for purchase on steam. This is just another example of someone trying to get XP for codes that aren't eligible.

Well, there is few DLC for Forge of Gods which you no longer can buy at steam and the donor even posted the link to which one it was.
Also it's very easy to verify such giveaways, as Forge of Gods is FTP game so everyone can add the DLC immediately to his account.
So while it's obviously breaking the rules (as the gift should always match the description) actually these two might be done without malicious intentions.

it's likely that it's a key from before it went F2P because it was in the Humble Monthly not too long ago, and linking to the game just gives the new banner stating that it's F2P. But the alarming thing is how many tickets have been sold. Are those all bots?

EDIT: checking it out, H1Z1 still gives 1247xp at cost of 12 iC. so the problem is that IG hasn't plugged a hole

I have no problem with giveaway content, but with the possibily given by the site to create giveaways for free games, unless you can get retail keys somewhere.

Quake Champions is given away in sevral sites atm:

How many times we should report the same guy, who's blatantly laughing in our faces and doing all the time all the same - i.e. hoarding thousands of xp points by posting en masse absurdly expensive DLCs from obviously empty (fake) steam account? He even managed somehow to get 14 negatives, which on this site is a LOT.

Is there a reason that the massive giveaway products are from a banned and removed from steam company? Is this not a problem?

That Velephant guy or bot made it to level 3 even. Last time he had several high value Giveaways up; and I say again I am going to enter just so that if he is a scammer I am comming back here to forum and Post it........So enter and win hopefully so that we know for sure!!!! ....
I don't see any problem with the good old hasbeen Zatwor and his merry banned cards and games.....Ha Ha....The trade cards for those games messed me up like 3 months ago.....I think most everyone who wants those games have them already....But to me know problem for new people to get them from IndieG.
