on top of that, they are strictly banned from being given away by users, so it's essentially just garbage to clutter up your account

No, we won't. If you don't have the base game, then steam won't let you to register the DLC - and even more, it won't say what kind of DLC you're trying to install.
So, unless you have the base game (a pricy 50$ one) AND unless you win the giveaway then there will be no chance to know "for sure"
But we don't need always to have a direct evidence, there is always something like circumstantial evidence. And from the history of his giveaways, we can draw only one conclusion - the guy is always posting fake, different, expensive DLCs. Why DLCs, not the base games? Well, that's exactly why - because it's close to impossible to verify them. If he'd posted an expensive game, then it would be very easy to verify it by the winner (with high risk of getting the negative). With DLCs it's much much harder. I wonder how many naively pure winners are thinking they got lucky and have the key for that precious season pass of the game they intend to buy if only some kind of sale comes...

Besides, I think there is a rule now stating that the poster need to have the base game in his library first - how about we finally enforce it?
Because if not... you don't think that he'll stop it doing by himself, do you?

And I put so many IC into these Prismata giveaways, hoping to win the key, but now all are cancelled.. :-(

Maybe we really should have some alternative for Beta, Early Access itd. giveaways?

So sowwy Although several of the people giving them away may no longer be giving away games. If you give away 5 games and the /detail/ Number Is consecutive. your not using the correct method of giving things away.

Are you sure about this or is this something new? On Feb 12, 2018, I posted 11 giveaways, 8 of which were consecutive giveaway numbers. The first consecutive giveaway was posted at 20:55 and the last of 8 in a row was posted at 21:06. 11+ minutes for 8 giveaways is not super human speed. And if all 11 giveaways had been the same game, I'm sure I could have done it twice as fast.

well, i saw someone else do this recently and can't believe I'm doing it myself. i need to report my own GA.


I already own the game, but when I did my due diligence of checking the code AFTER creating the GA and it turned out to be the Collector's Edition (I have only the standard or base game) so it activated on my own account.

Can a mod please remove this giveaway?

I did remove the giveaways trhen I looked and it was Indiegala giving them away. those are allowed so i will be re-allowing those.

there isn't an option for me to cancel your giveaway either. I can only close all the giveaways for a said game. usually if someone messes up there is usually only one giveaway of said game. I jumped on Redit saw it was givenaway so closed them all. then realized it was an Indiegala one. So was my mistake.
