When did you get an update...and what issue is it giving you anyways? Do you mean downloading? Because there are multiple factors involved in that part that could be causing you grief, and I doubt its Microsoft based.

Like if you have it set to download from other PCs...which I strongly recommend against even more than my usual warnings, more than one viral payload has already been delivered successfully using that feature.

Another setting in the update options sets the percent or exact limit of bandwidth updates can use (foreground and background) that could be problematic if you have other things using it in either category, particularly in the background.

I won't keep rambling without knowing what your issue is, but those are the two most commonly overlooked situations.

Heres a new one, Google is now adding applications for Drive, Docs, GMail, etc. to Windows, full apps like a cell phone.

i'm sure it's related to my processing power and disk usage
-while updating my disk usage is always at 100%
-i don't have hyper threading on my processor
- multiples windows services updating and installing in the same time

during those updates i can barely use the computer, most action leads to temporary freezes

i bought recently a tiny/mini pc for cheap, just for surfing/mailing/managing personal stuff,
with WIN10, it has a SSD and i don't have any update problem

W11 needs much more horsepower than W10, i don't understand why they have done this, cause people with non-compatible devices will not buy a new computer just for the fun of using W11
they cut their userbase in 2 new segments, this is stupid

Usually mechanical type keyboards makes more noise then membrane keyboard. My laptop keyboard is really quiet but it was broken so I had to hook an external keyboard logitech,it makes more noise then laptop but less noise then mechanical ones.
You could try with laser keyboards, but I don't know how good to play games, I never tried it out one.

I imagine what my current keyboard sounds like to Honey is where the guy mashes the blue keys at 1:20 in your video linked. Its not that loud.. yes, you hear keypresses but .. the things we do..

BUT you reminded me that I have a Cherry kb. Imma go look for it!

4 should handle it, 2 is the absolute minimal and I knew it when I tried...I'm still surprised at your update issue...I have at least one HDD running Windows 10 and I haven't had a problem.

EDIT:

Like I said, I doubt its the drive unless its dying or really slow RPM. What else it could be depends on what else you have for specs.

My machine is a monster so its not a fair comparison.

I can't speak for win 11, installed it, hated it, it crashed, never looked back.

You left out a major factor, the lan/wifi and service you use. This is download related.

I'd still say a 7200rpm HDD is in order at a minimal regardless (preferably server style or NAS for speed--toshiba is your smart lol) and I'm not sure what size you have, but if its jam packed or hasn't been cleaned up and defragmented in awhile it could be an issue regardless.

Yes, it actually helps alot, especially as drives get larger and at that speed.

The rest seems decent, even though they tell you to always run memory in pairs..and of course the hyper threading, but I don't see it causing enough of a issue to drive you nuts.

If you have the type of desktop that would make me flinch (80 icons, 17 items in the system tray), that ain't gonna run well...but if you keep a fairly clean PC, I don't think this should be as big a issue as you seem to have.

Nice review Silent, I remember the struggle we had in the past when we got stuck in the game and we hadn't youtube walktrhougs. We had some magazines with cheats and walkthroughs books (we still have nowdays).
if you needed help In 80s - 90s you could even call Nintendo Power hotline, there were operators could literally help you to beat your game. I never tried I think it was more an american thing and it was expensive call lol.

I never called the hotline but I pored over every page of my game mags and would print out .txt guides people would share on sites like GameFaqs. Come Christmas time I would ask for bookstore gift cards so I could splurge on the official game guides for some games!
I had a couple spiral notebooks with all the quests/recipes/hints/and codes written in them that I wanted to keep track of.
I still have all that, but now I just keep it for memory's sake to a different time in my gaming life
