Very nice, quite a lot of in-depth analysis here

The hoeing challenge definitely takes a bit of time to get acclimated to the precise movements, more specifically the green square you need to aim. 彪悍's video clearly shows he pretty much got the game entirely down, and i can show you exactly what he mastered that allows him to make those great 70+ tiles in under 46 seconds:

(Click on the images, since it's a gif)

Those sharp turns quick scope hoeing is the key to success. That green square you're aiming with, if you're slow enough, would've positioned itself on the green tile the moment he tried going down to hoe, but for a brief moment, it first goes through the yellow tile before it positions itself correctly to the green one. If you have.. not even fast reflexes, just a good sense of timing, you can time it right, just enough so you can click the moment that square briefly transitions to the yellow tile before going to the green one.

Here's a case where he failed the click:

Due to the frames i recorded it, the square might not show for that VERY SHORT brief moment, so let me break it down by frame:

Those veeery sharp turns you take, will shave off a good number of miliseconds that accumulates eventually into full seconds saved if you do it consistently, allowing him to do over 70 tiles in 46-44 seconds. Positioning yourself on free yellow tiles in multiple directions, allows you to do multiple quick sharp turns to time the hoeings in a way faster manner. Of course RNG might give you a bad labyrinth-like layout that doesn't have many yellow tiles in specific areas.

If you do it too slow, as shown above, the square positions itself very quickly to its correct input it wants you to aim your hoe, missing that short frame window where it does the transition before it. If you do it too quickly, you risk hoeing the already hoed brown tile, prompting the missing animation, which takes time away. With practice, you can instinctively know when to click during the brief transition it does, before it positions itself on the correct tile. Unfortunately all you can do is practice in order to have it down, and even then, myself, freakill, 彪悍 and many here miss those quick timings occasionally.

I don't really play the challenge anymore, i kinda took it way more casual after i passed the 1k wins mark, since i got tired of playing the game every day. Yes, first world problems right here folks, i got tired of winning free steam keys 😅. But i really enjoy visiting this thread once in a while and seeing the min-maxing analysis that will always go around here.

Very nice detailed analysis of the gameplay! Congrats for 1k wins, you should have won most of winnable IG keys lol I can understand you are tired playing everyday challenges, me i've started playing 5 months ago and sometimes it can be boring playing after 18s malus in my case.

75 in 46 seconds is something I can only dream of for now. Even at 12 malus I am still having issues with completing let alone 14 or 16 malus. I have been playing the challenge from mid-Apr this year so still need to improve on a lot with the hoeing (the only challenge now that I have difficulties winning keys at higher malus).

But back during the 1st week of play I'm getting only 1 key each day to later 2 and now 3 (or 4 with giveaways) keys 75% of the time. I'd say I thought was near the best I could do already. But you guys prove it otherwise so I will have to keep improving on my hoeing precision (which I am still pretty bad at) to try win 5 keys with giveaway.

How about yourself? How long did it take you to be so precise at the hoeing challenge?
I can't even remember exactly since it's been a year. I believe I wasn't as good definitely before and I caused more on the watering and archery before they made the challenge harder. I just remembered I wasn't good at all at hoeing till about a month in approximately. Glad you improved (probably even faster than I did), if you could I would love to take a look at how you play the hoeing challenge, and I could spot some tips or mistakes you make. :)

Whether win or lose, I get this blasted error either way, but it still takes my silver and rotates the game.

Really appreciate you putting them on frame by frame for more in depth analysis! I always commit to the same mistake as on gif 3. Apparently I kept positioning my character a little off grid that caused a slight tap on the direction to skip the next square and onto the following. I have to keep working on positioning, moving and hoeing. Sometimes I think I clicked too fast that caused the character to swing the hoe into the air instead of to the empty plot.

After 18 malus!? How many times do you win a day Burning? Seems like you guys already have your craft to the exact pinpoint.

Thanks for offering to correct my mistakes but at current point I am close to making 12 malus on the hoeing challenge (much better now as compared to before 56/60 as compared to last time 40+/60). Not used to the positioning, movement + hoe click timings. But with so many tips here I can keep trying to improve the precision and perhaps one day be close to what you guys have achieved. 1 month is all it took for you to be good. For me it has been more than 2 months and I am only able to nail the other challenges but not the hoeing. But I know I can improve just like the archers, used to die after 1 at 0 malus then 3 then clearing 9/9 and now at 12 malus I can kill 6-7 which is already very good for me but still there are improvements to be done as Burning said he can clear them at 16 malus. When I get somewhat better maybe I will try to do up a video and let you spot the mistakes I made as now I am still making consistently all the mistakes you made on your posted videos more than a couple times. For now I will try to mimic your moves on your video to keep improving! 😁

My sincerest gratitude to everyone here for taking the time for your selfless teaching of your craft to help me improve on my challenge! 😄(y)

I have this issue once in awhile and what I did was close that page, go to the main homepage refresh that and click to open the challenge page again. Works for me every time I encounter that. Else you can clear you cache and re-login to try again?

valike do you get keys on such occurrences? I for sure get nothing other than wasted silver and a challenge rotation
I received keys, seemingly without silver getting deducted two or three times (maybe four). I say seemingly, because I can't be 100% sure if the win didn't just coincide with the hourly silver refill.
At least some of those times, the game just loaded me into the same challenge again.
The other day I had a bug, where the game told me I don't have enough silver to play as I was watering 11th or 12th bean plant and after I reloaded the page it let me play the watering stage again. Not sure about the silver, I didn't pay attention to how much I had before and after the bug.

There are some interesting bugs. Today I won 3 times but got 4 keys. From the time stamps it seems my first win gave me two keys. The extra was a key for inMomentum, so nothing special. On the other hand I finally won the Tropico Trilogy which was one of my main targets in the challenges.

Usually 3 keys a day, 2 keys when I'm really unlucky and 4 just once with -16s (-18s +2s with 100 galasilvers). After 3 keys I've -18 malus and I spend 100 gala (-2s) to tryhard to win with -16s at archer stage. Sometimes I can get the 4th key having a positive feedback with giveaway so I can have a bonus of -2s, but I did only a couple of times.

Winning that key does malus add up also? Or it is an entirely free key without any further penalties to timing?

Wow I have never ever encountered such occurrences before but winning extra key for a single challenge sure is a good bug to get! 😁

Good to know that you can win archers at 16 malus. Never did that before 12 malus is my current max but knowing there is still room for improvement sure is great! 😄

It is really hard for me to win at archer with -16s malus, i succeded only once. It depends if last archer respawns or not from the same side of previous one.

I definitely won (I think no more than two times) without getting malus, I can't remember if that coincided with the previously described glitches.

If you're able to beat archers at 12 malus consistently, I'd say winning at 16 is mostly a matter of luck and not of improvement - you can only win if you kill #8 quickly and are lucky enough that #9 comes out of the same gate (or if you guess the #9's gate correctly and run to it before spawn).

I'm trying to win archers at 12 malus all if not most of the time so far I'd say 25%? It's especially bad when those shifty archers that likes to run around and immediately change direction when you are near them. 😅
Guessing the 9th entry is like a 33% chance and sometimes they appear on the opposite of the last kill which makes me fail at 12 malus but get gud get gud that's what I keep telling myself 😁

I encountered a bug today: I had 100 galasilver and wanted to remove -2sec malus so I spent 100 galasilver the game started but then I got the message I don't have enough gala to play. I didn't think I needed 110 to play then, but it didn't advice me and they removed me 100 galasilvers without playing.

Yep. After every successful challenge i checked my library and new key was there. And malus was not reduced - always 4s. 🥲

... it was 28.12.2020 when some lucky people won 7 keys per game. 🤪

Lucky you! Sometime it happens. 🤑
